When you make an enquiry or when transacting with us a member of staff may collect the following information Name, address, telephone numbers, email address, or we may collect from public access such as telephone directory or internet.
Vehicle details-these are the registration number, vehicle identification number, mileage, service history and other associated data relating to your vehicle ownership.
We use this information for the following reasons:
To enter into a contract with you and contact you if necessary regarding that contract.
To complete the necessary paperwork related to your contract with us
To take payments by card.
To complete MOT records and share with VOSA
To keep internal records for history of work carried out by us.
To send out reminder letters for your MOT and Servicing.
To enable us to make any warranty claims or in the event of a legal dispute.
To maintain and manage our accounts.
To enable us to share with anyone who are legally entitled.
Who do we share your personal information with?
Details of transactions may be shared with our Accountant
We may share information with anyone who has a legal right to it.
Enforcing our legal rights to defend legal proceedings and for general administration purposes.
We give your vehicle details e.g registration number, vin. number, mileage, and date of first registration of vehicle to our parts and other service suppliers (sometimes we outsource specialist services that we are not able to do ourselves) and manufacturers for the purpose of identifying parts required and warranty claims.
How long do we keep your personal information?
Transaction information is kept for 7 years.
Vehicle data and history are kept for our own records until you either advise us that you no longer have the vehicle or if you request that we remove it from our database.
What happens if you do not wish to share your personal or vehicle details with us?
We are unable to enter into a transaction with you unless we have this information.
Transferring your data outside of the United Kingdom
We do not share your personal information outside the United Kingdom.
We may share your vehicle details for the purpose of sourcing parts for your vehicle if we are not able to source them in United Kingdom eg registration number, vin. Number and age of date of first registration.
Data security
We are committed to data security. We will put into place the following.
Regular scans of all computer systems by a local I.T. company.
Remain PCI compliant for Credit/Debit Card processing.
Your rights and your personal data
Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your
personal data:
● The right to request a copy of the personal data which we hold about you;
● The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of
date;
● The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary to retain such
